Climate change is most important issue

To the Editor:

One of life’s greatest privileges is to vote. People say, “I don’t want to get involved in politics.” Webster’s Dictionary says, “Politics: A total complex of relations between people living in society.”

I hate to burst your bubble, but politics are in everything you do. Every law that’s passed will end up affecting you somehow. Every rule and regulation, every license you purchase or insurance you have to buy came via politics. You need people in office that make sense and are honest. The current Administration would throw out every thought-out regulation in pursuit of the almighty dollar.

The earth is in crisis and we need to look farther than the next few years. To quote Abe Lincoln, “Progress without empathy is not progress.” If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain because you didn’t ty to control your own life.

In the next election, vote for someone who cares about your situation, not theirs. If you think the economy is more important than the environment, hold your breath while you county your money and find out real quick which is important.
