Money Smart week events set

To the Editor:

April is Financial Literacy Month, and Money Smart Week is April 22-29. Are you “money smart?”

Even if your answer is “yes,” being money smart is a never-ending quest, because the world changes, financial products change, and our needs and priorities change over time. Everyone needs help staying money smart.

The local Money Smart Week team has a series of events planned to encourage and assist area residents in building and maintaining financial literacy. All the events are free of charge and also free of any advertising. Events include a Shred Event (April 8), bank tours for school children, teen lounge activities at the library, and several workshops: Getting Organized (April 19); Ready, Set, Retire (April 22); and So You Want to Start a Business? (April 25).

For more information, go to the national website www.moneysmartweek.org, www.visitwebstercityiowa.com (select “events”), or find Hamilton County Extension on Facebook.

Take advantage of opportunities to keep your financial skills up-to-date.
