Supper to help fight hunger at the local level

To the Editor:

Many fun events are being planned in the community this winter. One that will be happening this Wednesday, January 11, is the annual ham and bean soup supper at the Faith United Methodist Church on 2020 Superior St. The supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free will offering meant to bring awareness of local hunger and provide funds for the local food pantry to help purchase needed food. It’s hard to think about, but sometimes people in our local community don’t have enough to eat. We can help.

You will find hearty homemade ham and bean soup, fresh baked cornbread, homemade pies, and coffee or milk. You’ll also find friends and neighbors to visit with while enjoying a delicious meal. Come and join us. We hope to see you on Wednesday.
