To the Editor:

Prior to my retirement from law enforcement after over 30 years, I had the opportunity to work for both of our candidates for Hamilton County Sheriff,

Those who know me know I?am usually direct and to the point. Having said that, I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that the best man for the job is Rod Hicok and I will briefly explain why.

Rod has the leadership ability to get the job done and to move the sheriff’s office in the right direction. His work ethic and commitment to not only the law enforcement profession, but to the men and women under his command as well as the citizens of this county and the State of Iowa is unparalleled. Rod has extensive training not only in the areas of field work in law enforcement but in the key areas of leadership and management. The professionalism, dedication and ability to remain “calm under fire” I have observed by Rod is hard to put into words, but I can say it far outweighs any of the candidates who have stepped into the ring this year. During the time that I worked with Rod, I could always count on him to be there and take charge when needed or simply lend a hand without hesitation when asked.

If the citizens of Hamilton County want real, progressive, proactive law enforcement then the choice is simple:?Vote Rod Hicok on Nov. 8.

I?know I and my entire family will be.
