Celebrate National Library Week in Webster City

To the Editor:

This week, April 13-19, communities across the country celebrate National Library Week, a time to remind the public about the contributions libraries and library workers make to their communities.

Lives Change @ Your Library is the theme for this year’s National Library Week celebration. Libraries of all types serve as catalysts in their communities, offering opportunities for children and adults alike to learn, grow and achieve their dreams.

In addition to providing access to books, e-books, computers and other resources, libraries offer expert teaching and guidance to aid library users in their quest to open new worlds and change their lives.

Libraries have historically served as our nation’s great equalizers of knowledge, providing free access to information for all people. Today’s libraries continue this tradition by making both print and digital information affordable, available and accessible to all people.

The range of information and services available to library users is unlimited we have programs and resources for job seekers, parents, genealogists, children, business owners, retirees and more.

National Library Week is the perfect time to remember that the place to be is @ your library when you want to make a change and improve your life. We hope you will stop in to Kendall Young Library soon!
