Forum is opportunity to learn more

The Nov. 8 general election is quickly approaching. And while much attention has been given to presidential race, there are some local races of importance that will be decided in the election as well.

In Hamilton County, there are two candidates for the office of Sheriff. Doug Timmons, a Republican from Stratford, and Rod Hicok, an Independent from Webster City, are seeking your vote for Sheriff. Timmons was the winner of the Republican primary held in June. Hicok joined the race in July as an Independent candidate.

We encourage you to learn more about the candidates, question them about their policies, their plans if elected and why they are running for office.

The Daily Freeman-Journal will host a forum on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Middle School Commons in Webster City. Both candidates will be in attendance to answer your questions and to explain why each believes he is the best person for the job. Audience members will have an opportunity to submit questions for the candidates.

We invite you to attend to learn more about the local candidates.
