Support your local farmers market

There’s nothing quite like the flavor of homegrown tomatoes or leaf lettuce. But if you’re not blessed with a green thumb, you may have resigned yourself to missing out on the sublime pleasure of garden-fresh produce. Luckily, there is another option: your local farmer’s market.

Farmer’s markets have become more and more popular in recent years as people have become more and more interested in knowing where their food comes from. Buying from local producers is not only a great way to have a closer connection to your food, but it also gives you a way to support the local economy as well.

On any given Saturday at Wilson Brewer Park, the corner of Superior and Ohio Streets, from 8 a.m. to 11a.m., you can find produce and baked goods, along with other ?homemade items. Everything is in the shade, so it’s a very pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning. It’s always best to come early for best selection.

If you’re interested in becoming a vendor, there’s always room for more. You don’t have to be a farmer to sell at the market.

Call 832-9141 for more information about selling at the market.
