Music in the Park a rousing success

The First American Bank Plaza was filled with music Thursday night for the summer’s first Music in the Park event. Several hundred people from the community gathered to hear local musicians play. It was an open mic, so many local singers and performers shared their talents with the audience.

Delicious smells filled the air as the Webster City Lions kept busy all evening grilling pork burgers, with proceeds going to renovations at the Lions Stafford Park on Lynx Avenue.

This was the first of three planned events this summer. Look for another one in July, and a third in August. Following on the heels of a very successful Junquefest, this was another example of the success of Deb Brown and her team at the Chamber of Commerce in promoting events that put Webster City on the map.

If you missed out on Thursday night’s event, be sure not to miss it when it happens in July. And keep reading the Daily Freeman-Journal and watching our social media for more details about this and other community events. You never know when something new and exciting is going to happen in Webster City. That’s part of what will make our community an exciting place to live, play and do business.
