Learn about the candidates at forum Thursday

The June 7 primary election is quickly approaching. And while much attention has been given to state and congressional races, there are some local races of importance that will be decided in the primary as well.

In Hamilton County, there are three Republican candidates for the office of Sheriff. ?William Derrig, Ken Peck and Doug Timmons are all seeking your vote to make them the nominee for Sheriff. As there is no Democratic challenger for the office, the winner of the primary will be the only sheriff candidate on the ballot in November.

There is also a contested race in for the office of District 2 Supervisor. Republican Dan Campidilli is challenging incumbent Wes Sweedler for the office in the June 7 primary. ?

We encourage you to learn more about the candidates, question them about their policies, their plans if elected and why they are running for office.

The Daily Freeman-Journal will host a forum on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Middle School Commons in Webster City. All five of the candidates will be in attendance to answer your questions and to explain why each believes he is the best person for the job. Audience members will have an opportunity to submit questions for the candidates.

We invite you to attend to learn more about the local candidates.
