Kay Paulson

Kay Paulson, 84, of Webster City, died Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Kay Frances Kunz, daughter of Elmer and Irene (Waters) Kunz, was born March 9, 1942, in Graettinger, Iowa. She graduated from Graettinger High School in 1959. She later attended ICCC and Buena Vista University, receiving a degree in human services. On June 29, 1965, Kay was united in marriage to Gerald Paulson, whom passed away in 1966. She worked for Department of Human Services and Gerard Family Services covering Hamilton, Humboldt, Wright and Story counties. Kay enjoyed gardening, shopping at Goodwill and the Dollar Store, cheering on the Vikings and Twins and attending concerts. She especially enjoyed "sisters coffee" and wine night with her friends.

She is survived by her children, Gerri Paulson, Deborah (Scott Sinclair) Paulson, Dan (Tammi) Paulson, Rochelle (Perry) Sweazey, all of Webster City; Bob (Cassie) Lamirande of Fort Dodge; fur baby, Ozzy; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard (Roberta) Kunz of Iowa City; sisters, Beverly (Lark) Asklund of Webster City, Karen (Joseph) Credit of Fort Dodge; sister-in-law, Donna Kunz and several nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leo Kunz, Allen (Sandy) Kunz, Elmer (Janice) Kunz, Alvin Kunz, Roland Kunz, Darold Kunz, Larry Kunz, Harry Dean Kunz in infancy and sisters, Charlene (Howard) Worrick, Marilyn (Kenneth) Kepler, Cynthia Jessen; great-grandson, Miles Seeley; and niece, Sherri Westbrook.
