Lester Klaver
Lester Klaver, 86, Apache Junction, AZ, passed away on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025. There will be a graveside service on April 4th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Kamrar, Iowa, followed by a light lunch in the Fellowship Hall.
Lester is survived by his daughters Michelle (Kent dec.) McBain, and Jolyn (John) Winkler, and grandchildren Tyler Klaver, Keith McBain, Catherine McBain, Justin (Angela) Winkler and Mathew Winkler. Lester also had six great-grandchildren Lydia, Kaitlyn, Evan, Lane, Thomas, and MacKaylee Winkler, along with several nieces and nephews.
Lester was preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma, his son Randy, his parents Joe P. and Minnie, his brother Roger Klaver, and his mother-in-law Blanch Mourlam. His sister-in-law Yvonne Klaver passed in January 2026.
Lester was born September 16, 1938, at the Webster City, Iowa hospital to his parents of Minnie and Joe P. Klaver and was raised on his parents farm south of Kamrar, Iowa. He attended Kamrar schools and graduated in 1958. He married Norma Mourlam at the Presbyterian Church east of Kamrar. They made their home in Webster City for the first few years of their marriage where Lester worked for Nissen Food until 1963, when they moved to the farm and farmed until they retired in 2000. In their later years, they also managed the Jewell Golf and Country Club and upon retirement, they moved to their present home in Meridian Manor in Apache Junction, AZ.
