Glenda Monson
Glenda Monson, 89, of Boone formerly of Stratford, died Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted for caring for Glenda and her family.
Glenda Jean Hall, daughter of Glenn and Lucille (Woolsey) Hall, was born November 4, 1936 in Webster City. She graduated from Stratford high school in 1955. On October 23,1955, Glenda was united in marriage to James Ernest Monson at the Calvary Methodist Church in Stratford. The couple farmed north and south of Stratford.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Sandra) Monson of Stratford, Kendra (Mark) Stumpenhorst of Stratford, Steve (Laura) Monson of Lehigh; grandchildren, Mandy (Eli) Frakes, Hans Stumpenhorst, Jeff (Allison) Monson, Steve (Alex Marie) Monson, Christine (Jordan) Anderson, Andrew (Dacia) Monson and great-grandchildren, Quinton and Alexis Frakes, Luke and Dylan Monson, Connor and Graham Monson, John, Chloe and Josie Anderson, and Bennett and Everett Monson.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Jim in 2016; her parents and a sister in infancy, Lewellen.
She was a member of the South Marion Church. Glenda enjoyed watching the orioles and hummingbirds, caring for her flowers, baking candies and treats for Christmas, decorating for the holidays and watching college sports.
