Marjorie Scott

Marjorie Scott, 98, of Webster City, died surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Private family funeral services will be held with Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Marjorie Ellen Johnson, daughter of Julius Oscar “JO” and Fern (Dally) Johnson, was born November 3, 1927, in Homer at the family home. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. Marjorie was united in marriage to Vern Scott on September 19, 1948, at the Church of Christ in Webster City. She worked various jobs for many years — Northwestern Bell, the welcome wagon, Anderson Tax Services, Farm Journal and Hamilton Hospital as an admitting clerk, retiring in 2007. Following her retirement at the age of 80, she enjoyed a solo trip to Alaska.

She is survived by her children, Peggy (Randy) Arends of Webster City, Tim (Jill) Scott of Kamrar, Kristen (Barry) Klaver of Kamrar; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Monika) Arends, Heather (Adam) Pittman, Ashley (Jody) Soma, Barry (Sarah) Scott, Blake (Alex) Renaud, Jake (Alyssa) Klaver, Shane Klaver, Trevor (Mallory) Klaver; 15 great-grandchildren with another due in March; sister, Shirley (Roger) Chalfant of Wenatchee, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

Marj was preceded in death by her husband, Vern in 1967; son, Danny Scott; her parents; brother, Vernie (Kathryn) Johnson; sisters, Beulah (Kenneth) Gordon, Mavis (Myrll) Coleman; brothers-in-law, Virgil (Mary) Scott and Raymond (Pat) Scott.

She was an active member with the Church of Christ involved with various church activities. Marj enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and spending time with her family.
