Monty Asklund
Monty Asklund, 72, of Duncombe, passed away peacefully November 17th at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. He was born in Webster City on June 2, 1953, to Laverne (Buzz) and Zola Asklund.
He married Linda Erickson of Ogden on February 24, 1973. They had 3 sons, Tony, Aaron, David (Melissa), all of Webster City.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; three sons; granddaughter, Sahvana of Webster City; sister, Linda of Fort Dodge; brothers, Randy (Susan) of Duncombe, and Lark (Bev) of Webster City; mother, Zoe of Duncombe; and many nieces and nephews.
Monty graduated from Webster City High School in 1972. He had worked for the HyVee in his teens. Later he worked for Frito Lay and then Dr. Pepper as a vendor for 41 years, retiring in 2018 due to deteriorating health.
He was an avid KC Chief’s fan going to two games. One with his brother Lark and the other with his son David as a retirement gift from Dr. Pepper.
He was preceded in death by his father Buzz and grandson Arek Asklund. He will be greatly missed by all.
