Laura Bernard
Laura Rae Bernard, 51, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 23, 2025. She was a devoted Christian woman whom always kept God and her family as her priorities. Laura was born in Fort Dodge on September 15, 1974, to her parents, Perry Arnold and Becky Arnold Parker. Laura had a kind spirit and always looked out for others. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1993 and was united in marriage to Dr. Pierre Rene Bernard in Webster City on December 18, 1999. Together they built beautiful life and were blessed with three wonderful children.
Laura is survived by her husband, Dr. Pierre Bernard; her son Bryce Bernard (25); her daughters Samantha (Tamin) Lipsey (22), Hallie Bernard (21); her parents, Perry and Becky Arnold; her sisters, Sandy (Damon) Van Bogart, Kristi Arnold, Susan Arnold; her brothers, Perry Arnold, Paul Arnold; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Laura was an Obstetric nurse and thoroughly loved her job. She also volunteered as a teacher’s assistant, helping anyway she could while her children were in grade school. She attended church regularly with her family and volunteered at church related activities when her health permitted. She was dedicated to praying and sharing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with whom ever she crossed paths.
Gods Faithfulness was evident in her life and testimony. Each day she woke up and chose to find the beauty in her health struggle. For 13 years she gave her all to serve the Lord and love on her family. Even in discomfort, she carried on with hope and a smile, strengthened by the love of Jesus. She ran the race well and now gets to rest in God’s arms.
Laura's funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Heartland Baptist Church in Ames. Please wear bright colors to honor Laura.
