James Myers

James Myers, 87, of Stratford, formerly of Webster City, died on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Stratford Specialty Care. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com), in Webster City. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Anchor Point Baptist Church in Webster City.

James was born on October 22, 1937, in Wilmar, MN, to Ernest and Maxine (Dahl) Myers. The family later moved to Stratford, Iowa, where James attended school and graduated from Stratford High School. He owned a Kentucky Fried Chicken store for two years and worked at Van Diest Supply as a shipping and receiving supervisor.

James met Janice Peck when they were both members of the church choir, and they were married on April 7, 1962, at Calvary Baptist Church in Webster City.

He enjoyed painting landscapes on both canvas and doors, hunting deer and pheasant, and fishing — often taking trips to Canada with his co-workers. He was a member of Anchor Point Baptist Church in Webster City.

James’s family includes sons: Michael Myers of Webster City, and Douglas (Rebecca) Myers of Eagan, MN; grandchildren: Jamie Myers of Hudson, IA, Austin (Kenzie) of Waterloo, IA, and Mason (fiance Kayla) Myers of Carroll, IA; great grandchildren: Parker Jo, Daxton, Chloe, Raya and Auriella; brothers: Bud Myers of Johnston, IA, and John (Candy) Myers of Englewood, CO; sister Dorothy (Tom) Smith of Webster City, IA. He was preceded in death by his wife and sisters, Mary Knickerbacher and Cheryl Alt.
