Eldenna Fullerton

D. Eldenna Fullerton, age 75, of Durant, Iowa, formerly of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge, Iowa. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.
Eldenna was born on December 23, 1949, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Harris) Graham in Webster City, Iowa. She graduated from Webster City High School with the Class of 1965. She married Anthony Maro on November 9, 1968, and was later married to James Fullerton. James passed away in 2017.
Eldenna dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She served for many years in hospitals and nursing homes throughout the Chicagoland area, where her gentle hands and kind heart brought comfort to countless patients.
Outside of her professional life, Eldenna found joy in the little things. She loved the challenge of a good puzzle and the thrill of a mystery novel, especially those written by Dean Koontz. Eldenna was also a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing and quilting, often creating thoughtful gifts for family and friends. And when she was in the mood for a little fun, you could often find her fishing early in the morning or trying her luck at the casino.
Eldenna will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Anthony (Katherine Powell) Maro of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Donna (Dan Short) Sorensen of Wilton, and Andrew Maro of Wilton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Steve) Retel of Tucson, Arizona; and an “adopted son,” Steve (Lynn) Steinback.
Eldenna was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy; her husband, James; and one sister, Judy Kovacs.
