Shirley Harreld

Shirley Harreld, 85, of Webster City, died Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Van Diest Medical Center. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.

Shirley Ann Schroder, daughter of Harold and Beulah Bell Schroder, was born August 24, 1939, on the family farm near Blairsburg. She attended Blairsburg schools and graduated in 1957. On June 30, 1957, Shirley was united in marriage to Charles Loy Harreld at the Congregational Church in Blairsburg. She worked on the farm with her husband and was a homemaker raising their four children.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles; children, Cheri (Mike) Staebler of Ames, Christine (Tom) Williams of Scottsdale, AZ, Steven Harreld of Williams and Mike (Mary) Harreld of Williams; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; infant great-granddaughter, Blakely Harreld and brothers, Richard and Charles Schroder.

She attended and was active in the Williams Methodist Church where she spent many Sundays’ teaching Sunday school. She also attended Story City Methodist Church and the Community Church of Kamrar. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities. She was a past 4-H leader and girl scout leader, board member for the Williams Library, enjoyed sewing and crafts, and spent many hours in her garden. Upon retiring, Shirley and Charles spent many winters in Texas.
