Yvonne Joanne Christiansen was born on December 12, 1928, to Carl Christianson and Lucille Hanson Christianson at their farm home southeast of Harlan, Iowa. She was the second child in her family, following the loss of her brother Donnie Paul, who passed away in infancy. At the age of 12, Yvonne chose to be baptized by immersion at the Bethel Baptist Church. She received her education at Park and Laurel Schools, ultimately graduating from Harlan High School in 1947, where she was honored as an attendant to the homecoming queen and earned the rank of Salutatorian.

After high school, Yvonne began her career at a jewelry store, subsequently working at Production Credit Association (now known as Farm Credit). On December 18, 1949, she married Donald Dean Johnson at her church. The couple relocated to Webster City in 1951, where they welcomed three sons: Roger, Curtis, and Scott. Yvonne dedicated herself to being a full-time mother until her sons were well into their schooling, and later rejoined the workforce at WC Farm Credit, where she worked for 17 years until her retirement in 1983. She enjoyed nearly 72 years of marriage to Donald until his passing in 2021.

Yvonne had a profound love for watching her sons grow and excel in sports and music. She cherished family gatherings during holidays and took delight in hosting friends for potlucks and birthday celebrations. A talented knitter, she created 16 full-size afghans for her family, along with numerous baby afghans.

A devoted member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Yvonne actively participated in the hospital auxiliary and the P.E.O. sisterhood. In her youth, she was also a member of the Rainbow Girls, forming friendships that were an important part of her life.

Yvonne is survived by her sons, Roger (Tina) Johnson of Loveland, CO, Curtis (Theresa) Johnson of Springfield, MO, and Scott (Gina) Johnson of Tulsa, OK; her grandchildren, Jill, Tyler, Evan, Jordan, Rebecca, and Stephen; her great-grandchildren, Nolan, Evelyn, Kal, Alex, Cody, Eliza, and Jack; as well as many nieces and nephews from the Johnson family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald; her parents; her brothers, Donnie Paul and Dewey; her sister-in-law, Martha; her nephew, Phil; and three nieces.

Yvonne's legacy lives on through her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched during her 96 years.
