Donald Bordwell

Donald Bordwell Sr., 78, of Webster City, died Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Donald Dean Bordwell Sr., son of Carroll and May (Wiese) Bordwell, was born February 15, 1947, in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1966. Don served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. On February 22, 1969, he married Vickie Wilson in Webster City. To this union three boys were born — Donnie, Scott, and Terry. The couple later divorced. Don was united in marriage to Helen Thompson on March 21, 2007, in Webster City. He was a truck driver for 50 years, working with various businesses such as Webster City Custom Meats, John Hawkins, and Tony Nessa. Due to health issues, he retired on July 11, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Donnie Bordwell Jr. of Duncombe, Scott (Sonjia) Bordwell of Webster City, Terry (Amanda) Bordwell of Webster City; grandchildren, Lindsay, Abbey, Destiny, Mason, Fina; great-granddaughter, Isabella; brother, Deral (Wanda) Bordwell of Osage Beach, MO; sisters, Debra (Vern) Alexander of Webster City, Carolyn (James) Hodshon of Eldon, MO; sister-in-law, Cathleen Bordwell of Omaha, NE, and mother-in-law, JoAnn Snyder of Marshalltown.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Bordwell and nephews, Kevin and Robbie Bordwell.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #191. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR races and shooting pool.
