It is with great sadness the family of Perry Thomas announces his passing on July 10 following a brave battle with illness.
Perry attended Gilbert schools where he enjoyed playing football and spending time with friends. His career gave him the opportunity to travel all around the state and work alongside people who became lifelong friends. He loved to spend his free time hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, and following NASCAR. He also excelled in photography and was happy to share his talent by acting as the official photographer at family gatherings, weddings and events, along with capturing good times spent with friends.
Perry loved classic cars. He would watch Barrett-Jackson auctions and rattle off everything that was great about or flawed with specific cars. A friend affectionately and humorously referred to him as “the Google or Wikipedia of classic cars.”
Family was the most important thing in Perry's life. He spent many years (even during his illness) providing loving care and support to his mother. He was the best at calling to check in and check on family and friends and always offered his love, joy, wisdom, strength, generosity and laughter.
Perry is survived by his mother Marilyn Thomas; brothers Bruce Thomas and Kevin (Darla) Thomas; sister Rhonda (David) Keller; nephews Jestin (Tracy) Thomas, Brandon (Michelle) Keller, Garrett Keller, Levi (Michelle) Thomas, and Tanner Thomas; niece Larissa Thomas; many great-nieces and nephews; and honorary little brother Brad (Winston & Stella) Cheyne. He was preceded in death by his father Stephen Thomas, sister-in-law Peggy Thomas, and many dear friends.
The family prays that his kind soul may rest in peace.
