Nathan Tefft
Nathan (Nate) Andrew Tefft, 47, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Nate was born on September 28, 1976, to Cheri Blue in Ames, Iowa. Nate grew up in Ankeny, Iowa playing a variety of sports throughout his youth. Nate graduated from Ankeny High School in 1995 where he played baseball for the Ankeny Hawks.
Nate attended University of Iowa and while in college he and his friends traveled to Europe finding adventure in London and Ireland. After graduating from U of I in December of 2000, he headed south to live in Phoenix briefly before returning to the Des Moines area. Nate worked for Wells Fargo for several years where he had many colleagues and was employed as a fraud and claims specialist for Card Services at the time of his death. Nate loved sports, breakfast foods and animals, especially his rescue cats, Achilles and Ally. He was a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Kansas City Royals and his moms’ spaghetti. Nate stood 6’4″ and was witty, humble, and polite.
He is survived by his mother, Cheri Tefft of Des Moines, father Charlie (Beth) Tefft Jr and two step-brothers of Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his brother Aaron Tefft, his grandparents, James Blue, Bette Blue, Charles Tefft Sr and Daphne Tefft.
Nate will be truly missed by his family and friends and will forever be in our hearts.
Graveside services will be 11 AM Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery, friends may visit with family for one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
