David Laugerman

David Laugerman, 74, of West Des Moines passed away peacefully at home July 21, surrounded by family.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife Marcia of 37 years, his two sons, Steven and James his wife Deanna and their four children Maely (11) Joelyn (9) Nigel (6) and Zoey (3), also survived by his triplet brother Duane (Jolene), sister Connie Wahlert (Wayne) along with his father-in-­law Ben Rector (Jackie), Brother-in-law Bill (Donna) and Sister-in-law Tracy (Tom) Vanderlinden.

Dave was born March 8, 1950, a triplet, (2nd set to be born in Webster City, Iowa. His parents were Harold and Lillian Laugerman. His father received the Purple Heart in WW2 and gave Dave deep respect for the service, hard work and dedication. Dave was proud to be a member of the WCHS class of 1968.

As a talented A/A Architect, Dave graduated with a Masters in Architecture from Iowa State University. He founded his own firm, designing several churches, school buildings, etc. Dave spent his life in Iowa, though he cherished winters in Palm Springs, California.

His passions included fishing, cars, watching football, starting (and sometimes finishing home projects). He was peaceful, humble and gentle man whose warmth, generosity and kindness will be deeply missed.

Services will be Saturday at 11 am at Soteria Church in West Des Moines.
