JAMES WENDELL TURNER

James Wendell Turner, 87, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away peacefully at St. Lukes Hospice House, Kansas City, MO on March 19, 2024. He was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, May 16, 1936, son of G. Wendell Turner and Avonne Olson Turner. He grew up and attended schools in Champaign, IL, Ames, IA, and Webster City, IA, where he graduated in 1955. He served in the US Army 47th Infantry-9th Inf L. He was an auctioneer and in leather sales. He is survived by three daughters Lori Turner, Blue Springs, MO, Nancy & husband John Hoye of Raymore, MO, and Kathy & husband Stacey Weaver of Liberty, MO; sister, C. Joan Meyer of Tucson, AZ; granddaughters Molly Hoye and Meg Weaver; grandsons Clifford Hoye, Drew Weaver, and Maxwell Hoye; four nephews William, Marc, Edward, and James Meyer-all of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by both parents Wendell & Avonne and his grandparents George & Mable Turner and Lawrence & Mabel Olson. A private, family service will be held at a later date in Clarion, Iowa.
