Marsha was born on March 21st, 1945, to FD and Wanda (Nelson) Arnold. Raised in Stanhope, Iowa, she graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1963. She dedicated several years to serving under Dr. George Shey in Webster City, Iowa, forming enduring connections.

In a beautiful twist of fate, Marsha and her best friend, Linda Chicken, crossed paths with Jim Roland and Don Thompson from Alden. Both sets of best friends dated and married. Marsha married Jim Roland on August 8th, 1965, at Stanhope Methodist Church. They established their home on a farmstead north of Jim's parents' farm in Alden, where they raised three wonderful children: Leslie Roland of Overland Park, Kansas, Steve Roland (Shannon) of Bakersfield, California, and Todd Roland (Jodi) of Omaha, Nebraska. Marsha was also a cherished grandmother to Brock, Tessa, Steven, Tommy, Reagan, and Addison.

Marsha's life was characterized by her selfless dedication to her community. She served on various committees, including the Alden School Board, 4H Foundation, Hardin County Extension, and the United Methodist Women (serving as president at the Alden Methodist Church). She was an Iowa Master Gardener, member of PEO, an election poll volunteer, judging 4 H projects and contributed to the Alden Horizons Group.

Upon retiring, Marsha and Jim cherished winters in Rockport, Texas, creating enduring memories together. Her greatest joy was having family and friends gathered around the table, enjoying the delicious meals and desserts she lovingly prepared.

Marsha is preceded in death by her parents, FD and Wanda Arnold, her sister Linda Arnold, her in-laws Lloyd and Vera Roland, and infant son Brian Roland and grandson Brock Bellue..

Marsha is survived by her loving husband Jim Roland of 58 years, her 3 children and spouses, grandchildren, her brother Dick Arnold of St Louis Missouri. In laws Mary Jo May of Denver Co and Becky Roland Bryant(Bob) of Storm Lake, Iowa.
