Jonathan Janssen, 68, of Ocala, FL, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City after a brief battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held at later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.

Jonathan Ray Janssen was born June 3, 1955, in Webster City to Glen and Donna (Staples) Janssen of Williams. He was raised in the Williams and Blairsburg area and graduated in 1974 from Northeast Hamilton High School. Jon was united in marriage to Jaque Nilles in 1991, the couple later divorced. He lived most of his life in Webster City and worked at White Transfer & Consolidated for 25 years. Jon spent a few years in Colorado and most recently lived in Ocala, FL.

He had a deep love for his family, he didn’t feel family was just blood relatives, it was everyone he met along life’s journey that he enjoyed and loved. Without a doubt the most important person in Jon’s life was his twin brother, “Jimbo”, who passed away on July 28, 2023. Through the years when they were not physically in the same place, they stayed connected by numerous phone calls every day.

Left to cherish Jon’s memory are his sisters, Charla Cole, Gail (Dan) Thies both of Pharr, TX; Becky Finch, Mary (Joe) McKinney, Glenda (Don) Wills, all of Webster City; sisters-in-law, Peggy Janssen of Pharr, TX; Jill Kordash of Ocala, FL, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Carl Janssen, Gary Janssen, and twin brother, Jim Janssen; brothers-in-law, Marvin Cole and Kevin Finch.
