James Jay Janssen
OCALA, Fla. — James Jay Janssen passed away July 28th, 2023 at his home after a short battle with cancer. Jim was born June 3rd, 1955 to Glen and Donna Janssen of Williams, IA. He was raised in the Williams and Blairsburg area and graduated from Northeast Hamilton Community Schools in 1974.
Jim lived and worked in Webster City for a few years before moving to Florida. Once he settled in Florida he enjoyed a 33 year career with the Sherwin Williams Company, retiring in 2014.
Jim was united in marriage on May 23, 1980, to Barb Bender at Captiva Island, Florida. The couple later divorced. They have 4 children. Todd of Layton, Utah, Dustin of Fountain, Colorado, Mike & Rose both of Melborne, Florida. Jim enjoyed everything “Florida,” the beaches, the water, the sun and good times.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Todd, Dustin, Mike, Rose. Grandchildren James, William, Wade, Forrest and Penelope, Very special person in his life, Jill Kordash, Ocala, Florida; Twin brother Jon Janssen, Ocala, Florida; Sisters Charla Cole, Gail (Dan) Thies, both of Pharr, Texas; Becky Finch, Mary (Joe) McKinney, & Glenda (Don) Wills all of Webster City. Sister-in-law Peggy Janssen, Pharr, Texas. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Carl and Gary, brothers-in-law Marvin Cole and Kevin Finch.
