Ruth Norris, passed away on June 5th, 2023, at Van Diest Medical Center. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 9th, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, with a lunch following at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com).
Ruth was born on August 14th, 1935, to Truman and Evelyn (Purkapile) Schnell in Webster City, Iowa. She lived most of her life in this community that she called home.
When Ruth wasn’t working, you could usually find her indulging in one of her three favorite hobbies – garage saling, collecting Native American art, or going to casinos with her sister June and Larry. She had a special talent for giving people nicknames and enjoyed teasing them.
Ruth’s family includes her daughter Sherry Bond Seipp; granddaughters Tracey Brownfield and Stacy (Randy) Darrow; grandson Cory (Jordan) Shannon; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister Marcia Dayton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Truman and Evelyn (Purkapile) Schnell; son Jeffrey Bond; brothers: Bernard, Merlyn, Melvin, Franklin, Lawrence and Robert Schnell; sister Verla Jean in infancy and June Larson; sisters-in-law: Vinie, Delma, Joan and Carla Schnell; brothers-in-law: Larry Larson and Arthur Dayton.
