Ruth Fugate
Ruth Jane Fugate, 74, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the University Park Care Center in Des Moines. Ruth and her twin sister, Rita, were the last of the 18 children born to William & Gertrude (O’Bryan) Fugate. Ruth never married but was surrounded by a tremendous extended family. She retired from Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines after more than 40 years of service.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Merle Hay Chapel, 4400 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Calvary Cemetery in Webster City.
Ruth is survived by five siblings: her twin, Rita Siepker; sisters, Bea Essex, Carol Kurland, Pat Fugate; brothers, Leo and Paul and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
