WEBSTER CITY — Leaving behind a ton of wonderful memories and a trunk full of Elvis memorabilia, Teresa Ann Hayes departed this earthly life March 13, 2023. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Foster Funeral & Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.

Teresa was born on February 20th, 1934, to Clarence and Evelyn (Strain) Newton. She was raised in Fort Dodge, IA, the youngest of four daughters. Teresa received her education from Sacred Heart in Fort Dodge, graduating in 1953.

Teresa Newton and Roger Hayes were united in marriage July 23, 1955, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Dodge, IA. They forged a life together in Webster City, IA, raising four children, Roxie, Dave, Dee, and Roger Jr. Teresa was employed at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City, retiring in 1996 after 30 years of service Teresa enjoyed traveling, camping and family vacations.

Later in life Roger and Teresa would often take their grandchildren on memorable vacations to the Black Hills or Silver Dollar City. Their retirement years were often spent taking trips to the entertainment world of Branson MO. Along the way they would often stop and explore antique shops.

Teresa was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Webster City. Her faith was deeply rooted in the belief that Our Lord and Savior would always provide and that His faithfulness to us would never waver.

Whether it was through a smile or her touch, the core of her essence always remained present. She led a full life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Her journey on this earth has ended, but her life with her Father in Heaven will last an eternity. The memories she created and the life lessons she provided will remain with us, offering strength and comfort in the years to come.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary, Leona, and Irene; her lifelong partner and husband, Roger Hayes Sr.; her daughter, Roxanne Terry; son-in-law, Rick Terry; and her son, David Hayes. She is survived by her daughter, Dee Weir and son-in-law Jeff Weir; son, Roger Hayes Jr. and daughter-in-law Polly Hayes; daughter-in-law, Sonja Hayes; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association to help fight Alzheimer’s & Dementia disease or UnityPoint Hospice of Fort Dodge, IA.
