Chris Charles Richardson, 76, passed away at his home in Pascagoula, Mississippi, surrounded by his family on September 17, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Cass Township Cemetery north of Webster City. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Vann Richardson; son, Dan (Misty) Richardson; daughters, Katie (Stephen) Leachman, Sarah Richardson, and Lisa Searle; grandchildren, Daniel and William Richardson, Abigail and Avery Leachman and Avery and Alex Cork; brothers, Mike (Donna) Richardson and Jim (Jenny) Richardson; step-daughter, Kim Ellis (Jeff Leffoile); step-sons, Johnny (Kathi) Nelms and Michael (Brittany) Bruner; step-grandchildren, Ryan and Bailey Ellis, Alex, Patrick and Rebecca Nelms and Aulton and Jones Bruner.
Chris was born August 8, 1944 in Webster City to the late Kenneth and Ola Mae Richardson. He moved to California in his teens. Chris joined the United States Air Force in 1964, working as a geodetic surveyor across the continental U.S., and went on to complete his service with two tours in Vietnam. After the military, he attended Iowa State University and graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Administration in 1971. He also received his MBA in 1984. Chris began his life-long career with Square D Company in 1971, until his retirement as CEO and President in 2004.
He was a proud volunteer firefighter at the Jefferson Monroe Fire Department in Swisher, Iowa. Chris enjoyed traveling, skiing, kayaking, and his jeeps. He loved playing golf with his brothers and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends in Crested Butte, Lake Martin, and the Gulf Coast.
