CRAIG VANCE

Craig Talcott Vance passed away in Webster City on June 6, 2021. Craig was born in the Hamilton County Hospital on July 31, 1949, to William and Joyce Vance. He was a proud graduate of the WCHS Class of 1967.

Craig’s early working life in the radio business took him to numerous towns and cities in Iowa. He worked a number of years in Fort Dodge, later moving to Des Moines to pursue other positions. He had a lifelong interest in sports at all levels but was first and foremost an Atlanta Braves fan. Any conversation with Craig would eventually become a discussion about the Braves.

Craig will be greatly missed by his daughter, Angela Roberson (Jason) of Scottsdale, AZ; grandson, Brendon Peed of Fort Dodge; brother, Mark Vance of Wester City; and sisters, Peggy Baker (Dean) of Scottsdale, AZ; and Caroline Taylor (Tom) of Nevada, MO. He is also survived by his nephews, Brandon Taylor of Pittsburgh, PA, Casey Baker of Santan Valley, AZ, and niece Brooke Taylor of St. Louis, MO. His dear friend Wanda Snider of Algona also survives him.

In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittany Nichole. Craig was blessed with numerous cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as his aunt, Beth Christiansen of Portland, OR.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 16″ Floor, New York, NY 10001, or, online at alzfdn.org.
