CHARLES R. LARSON

Charles (Charlie) R. Larson, 81, passed away on May 30, 2021 from complications from Mesothelioma. Charlie was the second of three children, born January 4, 1940 in Lindsborg, Kansas. He grew up in the area and graduated high school in McPherson in 1958. Charlie married Paulette Bughman on July 17, 1964 and they moved to Webster City, IA in 1966. They have two children, RaeAnn (Larson) Yoder and Jeffrey Larson. In Webster City, Charlie worked as an operator with Farmland Industries for 21 years. Charlie was an avid woodworker and judged woodworking for 4H and he turned his hobby into a livelihood for his family. He and Paulette made walnut items and repaired antiques for families in Webster City on Pleasant Street called Larson’s Walnut Specialties.

The Larson family relocated to Gilbert, AZ in 1986. Charlie and Paulette started Timber Woodworking Machinery in 1988 with a trailer selling router bits & blades. Shortly after, they opened a permanent store in Mesa where they successfully operated and expanded their business to sell woodworking equipment, supplies and hardwoods. Charlie and Paulette semi-retired in 2005, and fully retired in 2015.

Charlie was a member of Webster City Coin Club. He and Paulette enjoyed going to country and oldies concerts with friends. Charlie was an active member on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Diabetes Association.

Charlie is survived by his wife Paulette, children RaeAnn and Jeffrey, brothers Gerald (Hawaii), Brian (Kansas City, KS), grandchildren Justin, Amy, Carlee and Joshua and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
