Gary Lee Burgin, 75 of Webster City, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Bethany Life in Story City, Iowa. Memorial Service and Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) is caring for the family’s needs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Zelpha Burgin; brother Ronald Burgin; nephew Troy Burgin; parents-in-law, Roland and Delores Neff; and sister-in-law Cheri Loomis.

Gary is survived by his wife Rolanda Neff Burgin of 57 years; daughter Jodi (John) Koop of Kamrar, IA; son Jeff Burgin of Story City, IA; seven grandchildren: John C. (Carrie) Koop of Ellsworth, IA, Amanda (Travis) Luhman, of Kamrar, Kelsey (Allan) Royster, of Duncombe, IA, and Joseph Koop of Kamrar; five great grandchildren: Sawyer and Monroe Koop of Ellsworth, Connor and Alayna Luhman, of Kamrar, and Rees Royster of Duncombe; sister Sue (Doug) Burtnett, of Webster City; nephew Brad (Ashley) Burtnett of Webster City; sister-in-law Charlene Burgin, of South Carolina; niece Theresa (Anthony) White, of South Carolina; nephew Shane (Rhea) Burgin, of Duncombe; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Gary loved the outdoors and always had his fishing gear ready for the river or any other good fishing hole. He worked in the livestock business his entire life with a moment spent as custodian at Livermore Elementary School where he loved reading to the kids and participating with the school plays. In 2001 he moved back to Webster City, Iowa to be closer to his own grandchildren, working for Prestige Farms until his retirement in 2016. He was a member of Kamrar United Methodist Church and former member of the Kamrar Lions Club. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trapping, and camping. He has crossed the Rainbow Bridge now sitting on a bucket telling a fresh bunch of stories to family and friends on the other side.
