PAUL DOUGLAS CHALFANT (DOUG)

Paul’s first years of life were living on a farm north of Stratford, Iowa. He grew up playing in the timber, sledding in the winter, and swimming in ponds during the summer with his siblings. He helped with chores, feeding and caring for livestock as well as planting and harvesting. In elementary the family traded life on the farm for small town living in Stratford, Iowa. During high school, Paul was involved in different activities including the Spring Play and Baseball. After graduation, Paul joined the Air Force and started a family when his son was born. After serving in the Air Force, Paul began a career as an Electrician.

Paul’s career took him through many states including Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, concluding his career with Gonzalez Contractors LLC in Midland, Texas, early in 2020.

Paul enjoyed music, collecting guitars, fishing, traveling, reading, NASCAR, riding his Harleys, and shoe shopping. (possibly shopping for boots)

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Chalfant, parents Calvin and JoAnn Chalfant, and sister-in-law Debra Chalfant (Kevin). He is survived by his son, Waylon Andrews and wife Nicol; grandchildren Taylor, Madisyn, and Dyllan Andrews; great grandchild Jordyn Roberts; two brothers, Michael Chalfant and Kevin Chalfant, and sister Lisa and husband Mike Smith; and several nieces and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to Stratford City Park or Midland County Public Library Foundation in Paul Chalfant’s name. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Stratford, Iowa.
