LOWELL JACOBSON

Lowell “Jake” Jacobson, 86, of Jewell passed away January 20, 2021 at the Hubbard Care Center.

Lowell Rodney Jacobson was born April 3, 1934 to Archie and Grace (Olson) Jacobson on a farm east of Randall. Lowell graduated from Randall High School in 1951. He served in the Army in Korea from 1954 to 1956.

On June 8, 1958 he married Sandra (Wentzel) and to this union there were three children born. Tracy (Bernie) Bell, Jamie (Debbie Denton) Jacobson and Douglas (Stacie) Jacobson.

Lowell spent his working years at Thermogas and the Jewell Iowa Co-op. He was a member of the United Church of Christ and the American Legion. He had been a member of the Jewell Golf and Country Club, he was a past member of the Jewell Fire and Rescue, and he had also served on the Jewell City Council.

Lowell was a pretty witty guy who would tell you a joke or in rare times sing you a tune. He was a likeable guy who had many friends.

The family would sincerely like to thank the caregivers at the Hubbard Care Center for taking such good care of Lowell. There kindness was truly appreciated.

Lowell loved his family and those left to cherish is memory are his wife of 62 years, Sandra Jacobson, children, Tracy and Bernie Bell, Jamie Jacobson and Debbie Denton, grandchildren, Jalyn Bell, Tarin and Danielle Weipert and much loved great granddaughter, Brexlie Layne Weipert, brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Louise Jacobson and nieces and nephews.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents and son, Douglas Jacobson.

Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ in Jewell, Iowa, or the Doug “Jake” Jacobson Wildlife Foundation through Hamilton County.

Services are pending and will be held at a later date.
