LOIS GORDON

Lois Jeanne Gordon passed away on January 7, 2021, with her daughters by her side. She was born on February 29, 1928, to William C. and Tilda Mae (Rice) Briggs. On January 24, 1946, she married William D. Gordon, and three children blessed this union.

Bill and Lois lived in Webster City their entire marriage. Being a leap-year baby, Bill always teased Lois that he only had to get her a birthday present every four years. Bill was an over-the-road trucker and Lois spent most of her time being a stay-at-home mom. Lois was a wonderful mother. She was small in stature but big in heart. She could also be feisty when she wanted to.

Lois loved flowers and just being outdoors. Orchids were her favorite flower, which she got to see many of on a trip to Hawaii with one of her daughters. She also loved walking beans and would drag her kids and grandkids with her to the bean fields. She would always make them do “just one more round,” which was never just one.

Lois is survived by her daughters Pamela (Brad) Hayes and Angela (Bob) Heaford, and daughter-in-law Diane (Marlin) Claude, as well as five grandsons Tom (Martina) Gordon, Ryan (Amanda Gordon), Matt (Julie Gordon), Ben (Jenna) Hayes, and Jake Hayes; and seven great grandchildren Kendra, Peyton, Clare, Sydney, Jackson, Hayden, and Kameron. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1995, son Kenneth in 1989, as well as her parents and two brothers and a sister.

Due to Covid-19, the family will be having a private funeral service and burial. A celebration of her life will be held when it is safe for larger gatherings. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
