MARVIN VOSS

Marvin Voss, 92, of Webster City formerly of Woolstock died Monday, December 28, 2020 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2020 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Masks and social distancing are strongly recommended.

Marvin Albert Voss, son of Albert and Amy Johnson Voss, was born July 23, 1928 in Fort Dodge. He attended country schools in Hamilton County and Lu Verne High School. On September 14, 1951 Marvin was united in marriage to Eleanor Ann Peterson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. The couple farmed in the Woolstock area for many years. They moved to Windsor Manor in 2017.

He is survived by his son, Steve (Lou) Voss of Woolstock; grandchildren, Lindsey (Chris) Schlesser of Maurice, Jordan (Kaia) Voss of Woolstock; great-granddaughter, Margaret Ann Schlesser; siblings, Leonard Voss of Eagle Grove, Mary Sadler of Eagle Grove, Marge Ellsworth of Carmel, Indiana, Janis (Jack) Turk of St. Charles, Illinois and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor in 2018; sons in infancy, Lonnie and Jeffrey Voss; his parents; brother, Richard Voss, sister, Doris Will; brothers-in-law, Harvey Will, Richard Ellsworth, Richard Sadler and sister-in-law, Joann Voss.

For over 50 years, Marvin was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Woolstock and served as a board member. He was a current member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He served on the Woolstock Fire Department and was a board member on the Woolstock Farmers Co-op.

Memorials may be left to the family’s discretion.
