RICHARD KLIEGL

Richard “Dick” Kliegl, 87, of Webster City died Monday, November 23, 2020 at Southfield Wellness Community. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will be waiting to do services until 2021. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.

Richard Joseph Kliegl, son of George and Pauline (Debri) Kliegl, was born April 21, 1933 in Cylinder. He graduated from Cylinder High School. Dick enlisted into the United States Navy in 1952, serving four years, then joining the reserve. On April 20, 1958 he was united in marriage to Margaret “Peg” Sebastiani. On February 21, 1974, Dick married Bonnie Goretska. Between the two of them they had six children. The couple resided in Webster City. Over the years, Dick worked many jobs from selling insurance to owning and operating various restaurants.

He is survived by his children, Diane Williams of Webster City, Ann (Shannon Maulding) Kliegl of Chesapeake, VA, Shawn (Dorla) Kliegl of Plattsmouth, NE, David (Stacey) Kliegl of Council Bluffs, Chris (Stephanie) Kliegl of Webster City, Niki (Dr. Jim) Kumm of Webster City; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that adored their Uncle Dick.

Dick is preceded in death by his wives, Margaret in 1967 and Bonnie in 2017; son-in-law, Mike “Chico” Williams; siblings, Dorothy, George, Juanita, Gene, Evelyn, and Lloyd.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #191. Dick enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family.
