David Koestner, 70, of Webster City died Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2020 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
David Lee Koestner, son of William Franklin and Lila Wagner Koestner, was born November 24, 1949 in Webster City. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Bernita “Bird” Bray in Webster City. Dave worked for many years at American Concrete (formerly Weavers Concrete and Giese Concrete) before his retirement. He was a mechanic that loved to fix anything. Dave enjoyed his ’69 Chevelle, racing, playing poker and reading country western books.
He is survived by his wife, Bird; daughter, Talena Bray of Des Moines; grandsons, Grant and Mason Mayfield; brothers, Don (Christine) Koestner, Dennis (Mary Ellen) Koestner both of Webster City; sister, Karen (Glenn) Young of Le Roy, MN and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Koestner, sisters, Rose Zedicher and Lila Nelson.
Memorials may be left to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in David’s memory.
