HELEN R. HOVE

Helen was born on October 16, 1922, in Stanhope, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Esther Sorenson Knight.

She married Albert Hove on June 7, 1942, in Tillamook, Oregon. He passed away in 2014.

She worked as a nursing assistant and medication aide in the surrounding Stanhope area nursing homes with love and compassion for many years.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Carole (Robert) Holdaway of Coralville, Iowa; grandsons, Jesse, and Ben with great-grandson Gunner Hove (Warren and Barbara Hove); grand-daughter Becky and Husband Brad and great-granddaughter Molly Smeaton (Tim and Jackie Cimino-Hove; Mary Ann Wagner); grand-daughters Grace and Hannah Holdaway (Carole and Robert Holdaway) and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Orzellle, Cleo, and Bonnie; and her sons Warren and Tim.

Celebration of life and interment are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward Helen’s family in care of Carole Holdaway, Iowa City Hospice or The Bird House.
