LAVONNE OSMUNDSON

LaVonne Osmundson long-time Webster City resident died February 17, 2019 at the age of 94.

Alice LaVonne Osmundson, daughter of Percy and Vera (Davis) Lichtenberger was born August 16, 1924 in Webster City, Iowa. She married Bradley Mason Osmundson on August 1, 1948. The couple resided in Webster City where Brad was a third generation owner of Osmundson Forge. LaVonne and Brad retired in 1983 and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. LaVonne returned to Webster City following Brad’s death in 2002.

LaVonne was an active member of the First Congregational Church and P.E.O. She was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as an instructor during World War II. In later years, she worked as a realtor for Buell Realty and served on the Board of Hamilton and Wright County Realtors.

LaVonne is survived by her daughter, Gjoa Kuberry, Denver, Colorado; son Chris (Nancy), Belgrade, Montana. Grandchildren Sarah (Tim) Kuberry Martino, Christa Kuberry, Mick, Marissa, Tiffany and Thomas Osmundson; Great-grandchildren Luca and Soren Schwind and Alice Martino.

LaVonne is preceded in death by her husband, Brad; sister, Vee Woods; brother, George Lichtenberger and son-in-law, John Kuberry.

The family would like to express special thanks to all the members of the First Congregational Church and to her many friends who went out of their way to help her since her return to Webster City. LaVonne sincerely appreciated the kindness shown to her.

Family gravesite services will be held. Memorial gifts may be made to First Congregational UCC Church.
