NORMA LANDE

Norma was born May 28, 1928, to Bernice and Ella Dodds in rural Gilbert, IA. She graduated from Gilbert High School in 1945, and attended AIB in Des Moines. She married Arnold Lande Sept. 27, 1946, and they moved to Webster City, IA, in 1948. They operated Lande Refrigeration Service from 1948-1983. Norma was employed by Town&Country Insurance for over 25 years. She was an active member of Federated Women’s Club and the Jane Young House Foundation.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Allen Lande (Susie Erickson) of Lakeville, MN; her daughter, Dr. Ilene Lande (John McNutt) of Iowa City, IA; grandchildren Elisa Lande-Brown (Dan Brown) of Lakeville, MN; Emily Alison (Laurence) of Holywell, Wales; Nathan Lande of Lakeville, MN; Allen McNutt (Kirsten Wallace) of Blacksburg, VA; Michael McNutt of Iowa City, IA, and Ellison McNutt of Hanover, NH, and 4 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (James Dodds and William Dodds) and one sister (Marie Dodds Sande), and her husband, Arnold Lande.

Memorials may be addressed to the Jane Young House Maintenance Fund or the Kendall Young Library. No formal service is planned at this time. Her ashes will be interred in Gilbert, IA, in the spring.
