A minor accident occurred on Sept 23. David L. Kennedy, Stanhope, was turning left in the First State Bank parking lot to leave and failed to see a pole. There was no damage to the pole. Kennedy’s vehicle sustained an estimated $2,000 in minor damage.

A two vehicle accident occurred on Sept. 22. Alfred R. Davidson, Webster City, was traveling south bound on Beach Street. Gerald T. Christeson, Webster City, was stopped on Beach Street facing south bound waiting to make a left hand turn onto Mary Lane once traffic was clear. Davidson reported stated he was distracted by sneezing when the front bumper of his vehicle collided into the rear bumper of Christeson’s vehicle. There were no injuries. Davidson’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in disabling damage. Christeson’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in minor damage.

Anthony W. Birkey, Fort Dodge, was arrested on Sept. 17 for violation of a no-contact order.

Dustin J. Spangler, Webster City, was arrested on Sept. 17 for simple assault.

Tyler A. Blair, Webster City, was arrested on Sept. 17 for disorderly conduct.

On Sept. 17, a one vehicle accident occurred. Laverne R. Crim, Webster City, came to the WCPD to report that he had struck a street sign at the off ramp of Highway 20 coming into Webster City from the east. There was an estimated $2,500 of functional damage to his vehicle on the driver’s side rear quarter panel and rear bumper. There was an estimated $500 in damage to the street sign. There were no injuries reported and no citations issued.

Lemeisha C. S. Thomas, Laurens, was arrested on Sept. 15 for driving while license revoked.

Shannon D.?Worthen, Webster City, was arrested on Sept. 16 for driving while license suspended.

A two vehicle accident occurred on Sept. 13. Michelle A. Bunpan, Webster City, was traveling west bound on East Second Street. Martin Torres Sanchez, Webster City, was also traveling west bound on East Second Street ahead of Bunpan. Torres Sanchez came to a stop at the intersection of East Second Street and Oak Avenue and was waiting to make a left hand turn onto Oak Avenue when traffic was clear. Bunpan’s front bumper collided into the rear bumper of the vehicle of Torres Sanchez. There were no injuries. Torres Sanchez’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,000 in minor damage. Bunpan’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in disabling damage.

Kristie G. Webber, Webster City, was arrested on Aug. 9 for simple assault.

Police Reports

A two vehicle accident occurred on Sept. 20. Darrin P. Artis, Webster City, was backing south out of a residential driveway on Meadow Lane. Brittany J. Van Deer, Webster City, was backing north out of a residential driveway on Meadow Lane. The right rear bumper of Artis’ vehicle collided into the right rear side of Van Deer’s vehicle. There were no injuries. Both vehicles sustained and estimated $500 in minor damage.

On Sept. 17 the WCPD received a call regarding a two vehicle accident at Fairmeadow Drive and Des Moines Street. Deloris C. Tate, Webster City, was traveling northbound on Des Moines Street. Dean W. Flaws, Webster City, was at the stop sign on Fairmeadow Drive and reportedly stated he did not see Tate until the collision. Flaws was intending to cross the intersection heading west bound. When Officer Peterson arrived on scene he saw that Tate’s vehicle had a large dent and scrapes on the passenger side door. The rear passenger tire was flat from a large cut to the tire. Tate’s vehicle sustained an estimated $4,000 in disabling damage. Flaws’ vehicle had a smashed in front bumper and grill to his vehicle. Flaws’ vehicle had an estimated $4,000 in minor damage and was able to be driven away from the scene.

Beder R. Diaz, Webster City, was arrested on Sept. 12 for driving while license revoked, failure to have SR-22 insurance, and failure to maintain control.

Shane A. Odor, Webster City, was arrested on Sept. 10 for burglary in the third degree, theft in the fourth degree, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police Reports

On Sept. 12 the Webster City Police Department was called to the 600 block of Oak Ave. for a hit and run accident. Upon arrival, Officer Delaney found a blue Cadillac Fleetwood legally parked on the street with the rear driver’s side damaged. There were also pieces of the vehicle all over the road. Delaney noticed a piece of plastic that did not belong to the Cadillac. After Delaney left the 600 block of Oak Ave., he drove around the area to see if the vehicle had parked at a nearby house. As he was driving past 301 Willow St. he noticed a bluish Nissan parked inbetween the house and garage. Delaney turned his spot light on and pointed it at the vehicle and saw that the front end was damaged and the concrete underneath the vehicle was wet. Delaney matched the piece of plastic he found in the 600 block of Oak Ave. to the damage done to the Nissan Pathfinder. Officer Elonich and Officer Delaney spoke with the driver of the Nissan, Beder R. Diaz, Webster City. Diaz reportedly said he was returning from the store when he got a text message and he started to read it when he hit the parked car. Diaz stated that he got scared and kept driving until he got home. Diaz’s vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 in disabling damage. The Cadillac sustained an estimated $7,000 in minor damage. Diaz was cited for driving while revoked, failure to have SR-22 insurance, and failure to maintain control.

Caitlyn R. Anderson, Webster City, was traveling west on Bank Street on Sept. 12 when the light turned red. Monte L. Krieger, Webster City, put on the brakes to stop at the red light. Anderson pressed on the brakes and they failed to stop the vehicle. Anderson’s vehicle ran into the back of Krieger’s vehicle. A passenger in Krieger’s vehicle had neck pain. An ambulance was called. Everyone was fine. Anderson’s vehicle sustained an estimated $500 in minor damage. Krieger’s vehicle sustained an estimated $200 in minor damage.

Police Reports

Laura K. Brockett, Webster City, was backing out of a parking space in the Hy-Vee parking lot on Sept. 11. At the same time, Stefani L. Menage, Webster City, was also backing out of a parking space. Both failed to see the other vehicle. There were no injuries. Brockett’s vehicle sustained an estimated $300 in minor damage. Menage’s vehicle sustained an estimated $200 in minor damage.

A two vehicle accident occurred on Sept. 9. Mason L. Keller, Webster City, and Joel A. Delaney, Webster City, were stopped at the stop sign east bound at the intersection of Superior Street and Third Street. Keller noticed there was a semi turning west bound from Superior Street at a high rate of speed. Keller reportedly thought they were going to get hit and attempted to back up. Keller’s vehicle hit Delaney’s vehicle as a result. There were no injuries. Keller’s vehicle sustained an estimated $250 in minor damage. Delaney’s vehicle sustained an estimated $500 in minor damage.

An unknown was traveling south bound on North Terrace Drive on Sept. 8. Nicole C. Boyd, Webster City, was traveling south bound on North Terrace Drive. Boyd reportedly stated the driver of the unknown vehicle was distracted by his cell phone when he crossed over into Boyd’s lane. The front of the unknown vehicle collided into the left front bumper of Boyd’s vehicle and then left the scene. Boyd reportedly stated the unknown vehicle was a purple two-door Pontiac. There were no injuries. Boyd’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,000 in minor damage.

On Sept. 2, a hit and run was reported. A 2007 GMC Envoy was legally parked facing south bound in the 1000 block of Wood Street. The Envoy was hit by an unknown vehicle with an unknown direction of travel. There were no injuries. The Envoy sustained an estimated $1,200 in minor damage.

A hit and run was reported on Sept. 2. A 2011 Chevrolet Equinox was parked facing north bound in the 700 block of Maple Street. The Equinox was struck by an unknown vehicle with an unknown direction of travel. There were no injuries. The Equinox sustained an estimated $1,000 in minor damage.

A warrant was served to arrest Christopher C. Boyd, Webster City, on Aug. 31.

Anthony W. Birkey, Fort Dodge, was arrested on Aug. 29 for violating a restraining order.

Police Reports

A two vehicle accident occurred on Sept. 3 on East Second Street. Debra J. West, Webster City, was stopped at the light facing west on East Second Street. Jorge Alejo-Cacari, Webster City, did not slow down in time and the front of his vehicle collided with the rear of West’s vehicle. West pulled into the Grid Iron parking lot and confronted Alejo-Cacari. Alejo-Cacari drove away from the scene. Upon officer arrival, Alejo-Cacari was observed leaving the trailer court located across the street from the Grid Iron. Alejo-Cacari admitted to colliding with West’s vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Alejo-Cacari was intoxicated. Alejo-Cacari was arrested for OWI and was cited for failure to have a valid license and failure to prove security against liability. There were no injuries. West’s vehicle sustained an estimated $1,500 in minor damage.

A two vehicle accident occurred on Aug. 30 at the intersection of Division Street and Woosley Street. Jodi L. Elsberry, of Webster City, was traveling west and was struck by Courtney J. Christian, Webster City, at an uncontrolled intersection. Elsberry was cited for no insurance. There were no injuries reported. Elsberry’s vehicle sustained an estimated $2,000 in minor damage. Christian’s vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 in disabling damage.

Gerardo E. Medina, Denison, was arrested on Aug. 27 for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Roberto Garcia, Jr., Denison, was arrested on Aug. 26 for possession of methamphetamine and interference with official acts.

A warrant was served to arrest Steven D. McFarland, Webster City, on Aug. 26.
