S.A.L.T. program Thursday at Van Diest Medical Center

The S.A.L.T. meeting for the month of April will be held Thursday in the Clinic Board Room at Van Diest Medical Center at 9 a.m., 2350 Hospital Drive. Refreshments will be served, and Van Diest Medical Center personnel will provide free blood pressure checks. Kristi Zwiefel, VDMC dietitian, will explain how eating 30 different plants in a week will benefit your gut health. S.A.L.T. meetings are free and open to the public.

Red Cross encourages blood donations

The American Red Cross asks people to help patients in need by making an appointment to give blood or platelets now. Donors of all blood types remain critical to keeping momentum up and the blood supply stable as spring begins. Meetings on property taxes draw interested crowds

Last week there were four meetings held for the public to learn more about the levies or tax dollars which are paid through property tax bills every six months. Van Diest Medical Center Board of Trustees to meet Tuesday

The board of trustees for the Van Diest Medical Center will meet Tuesday at noon in the Clinic Board room. On the agenda are the approval of capital requests and the approval of the fiscal year 2027 tax asking and budget. There will also be a hospital update from CEO Lisa Ridge, in addition to a growth and community pillar report. Other reports include community events, and pillars for service excellence, quality and continuous improvement and financial. There will also be updates on the medical staff and from MercyOne.
