FORT DODGE, IOWA - Looking for a Christmas gift that’s guaranteed to get a laugh while supporting a great cause? The Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association (FDFAA) is bringing back its annual Poorly Drawn Portrait Fundraiser, giving the community a chance to turn their favorite photographs into one-of-a-kind works of questionable art!
For a $25 donation, participants can submit a photograph of a person, pet, family, or just about anything they can dream up and receive their very own Poorly Drawn Portrait as a digital download.
The catch? You never know who will draw your picture!
You MIGHT get one of FDFAA’s talented artists, but chances are your masterpiece will look like it was created by someone with the artistic abilities of a second grader. That’s part of the fun!
All proceeds from the fundraiser directly support arts programming through the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association, helping the nonprofit continue its mission of strengthening the community by fostering creativity and celebrating life through the arts.
Whether it’s a portrait of a beloved pet, a family member, a coworker, or a hilariously unexpected Christmas surprise, these unique creations make memorable gifts while supporting a meaningful cause.
How to Participate:
Make a $25 donation to the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association.
Email your photograph to fdfinearts@gmail.com by December 11, 2026.
Completed digital portraits will be delivered on December 18, just in time for Christmas.
For an additional $10 donation, participants can fast-track their portrait and receive it within 48 hours.
The fundraiser welcomes creativity of all kinds. People, pets, and unusual requests are all encouraged!
FDFAA invites the community to participate, share the fundraiser with friends and family, and help make this year’s campaign its most successful yet.
A little bit of “unique” artwork can do a whole lot of good!
