WCCT's production of "The Roommate" opens Thursday
With only four performances of the Webster City Community Theatre's production of "The Roommate" , those planning to attend should get their tickets soon.
Tickets for the production may be purchased online at wccommtheatre.ludus.com. Performances will be held on Thursday, Friday at 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
The two-woman show sees Leah Mason as Sharon and Amelia Oliver as Robyn. Anne Blankenship is the director.
Set in rural Iowa, "The Roommate"introduces Sharon, a recently divorced woman whose quiet life is turned upside down when she rents a room in her home to Robyn, a mysterious and free-spirited New Yorker looking for a fresh start. What begins as an unlikely friendship soon becomes a journey of self-discovery, reinvention and unexpected possibilities.
As secrets are revealed and boundaries are tested, the two women discover that it’s never too late to shake things up--or become someone entirely new.
With its sharp dialogue, laugh-out-loud moments and unexpected twists, The Roommate explores friendship, identity and the courage it takes to embrace change.
"'The Roommate' reminds us that we don’t have to be defined by our past or the expectations others place on us," said Blankenship. "It’s funny, a little outrageous and ultimately a story about the possibilities that open up when we’re willing to take a chance."
Performances are scheduled for Nov. 5 and 6 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 7 and 8 at 2 p.m. at Webster City Community Theatre.
