In 1962, the story of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan was one of the first biographical films which helped the hearing world understand the complex issues that the loss of hearing has on developing relationships, education and socialization.

Students of the Webster City Community Schools who will be bringing this story to life are Audry Buie as Helen Keller, Abby Heckert as Annie Sullivan, Bryce Hrnicek as Captain Keller, Ellie Pruismann as Katie Keller and Blake Arjes as James Keller. Additional cast members include Harper Taylor as Aunt Ev, Greyson Heckert as both Anagnos/Doctor, Perla Andrade-Murillo as Viney, LeAnn Martin as Martha, Paxton Allen as both Percy and the boy's voice, and the trio of Isabella Romp, Charly Christensen and Skyla Martin as the blind girls and crones.

The film earned Anne Bancroft, as Anne Sulllivan, a best actress award, and 16 year old Patty Duke, who was cast as Helen Keller, the best supporting actress award from the Academy Awards. This dramatic play will be presented by the Webster City High School November 13-15 at the Prem Sahai auditorium.

The audience will be brought into the heart of the story, with the cast dramatizing the determination of the teacher, Annie Sullivan, the impact of education and the intensity of the relationship between the teacher and student.

Performances are scheduled for Friday, November 13, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 14, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 15, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Webster City Community Schools Activity Passes will be accepted.
