Today is the last day to cast an early ballot for the Mid-term Election at the Hamilton County Courthouse. Voting can occur during the regular business hours of the courthouse from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday. There is no voting at the courthouse on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the General Election polls will be open at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m. All voting on Tuesday must occur at the assigned voting precinct, which is determined by the physical address on voter registration materials.

Everyone must have a photo i.d. with them, with the current physical address on the identification. The address determines which of 25 different ballots they will need to vote.

All voters are required to provide identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a ballot. A drivers license is the simplest form of identification.

According to Hamilton County Auditor, Kim Schaa, the drivers license must be valid, not expired, and have the correct name and address. If anything has changed, they can bring in a utility bill, a government check, a lease or mortgage paperwork, that includes both the name and current address on it.

If that is not possible, they can bring someone from their voting precinct who is already a registered voter to attest their information. Election day registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification also.

For additional information about proof of identity, call the Hamilton County auditors office at 515-832-9510 or go to the Secretary of State website and search for voter id information

If voters have moved recently, check with the Hamilton County auditors office to confirm your voting location.

All polling locations will open on November 3 at 7 a.m., and be open until 8 p.m.
