Sarah Nachazel

Sarah Nachazel lives in Iowa Falls and this is her second year as Principal at Northeast Hamilton Elementary School and sixth overall in her career. Her favorite part of being Principal at her school is getting to work with her amazing students, staff, and families each day! She enjoys celebrating student growth and success, supporting staff, and partnering with families where every student can do their best!

"One goal I continue to work on is to build a positive school community where our students can learn and grow. I love that each day brings a fresh start and new opportunities. You never know

what exciting moments, challenges, or successes the day will bring! I want to make the most of each day by...celebrating the little things that make our school special." Sarah tries to be visible and an active part of school life. "School spirit is about celebrating students!" She does this by finding daily wins in classrooms and making sure every student feels like they belong.

She wants students to know that each day is a new opportunity to learn and grow. It's important to be kind, work hard, have fun, and believe in yourself!

Teresa Van Epps

Principal at Sunset Heights Elementary School

Teresa Van Epps is from Bristow, Iowa, and has been Principal at Sunset Heights for three years now. Her favorite aspects of being a Principal at her school are the relationships with her students and staff, seeing students grow in confidence, celebrating their successes, and working alongside teachers who care deeply about helping every child succeed.

Her goals include, "Strengthening everyday instruction so every student makes meaningful progress in reading and math". Teresa enjoys celebrating her students and staff and believes school spirit means showing up, supporting one another, and being proud to be a Lynx!

And she would love for her students to keep in mind the following words of wisdom: "Be kind, ask questions, and keep trying even when something feels hard. Everyone makes mistakes; that's how we learn!"
